No One Offers More Choices in Gang Rip Saws

From a fixed arbor saw gang rip saw to dual arbor Select-A-Rip machines with up to six shifting blades, Mereen-Johnson can provide the best machine to meet your application and production requirements.

Choosing the Right Saw

Your cut list, ability to utilize random stock (ie edge glued panels/components), production volume, type of controls or optimization and grade of material to be processed are all factors which need to be considered when determining the best saw for your application. The following are some basic descriptions of saws and their applications. Be sure to consult with your Mereen-Johnson Representative for a more detailed analysis.

Fixed Arbor Saws

Provide the greatest production volume and reliability with the least amount of maintenance. Best for high volume, fixed width applications such as moulding and dimension plants using higher grade materials. More Information: Small to Mid Sized Shops or High Production Applications.

Available in 12" , 24", 31" and 40" for solid wood applications and full width panel ripping for engineereed wood applications.

Single Shifting Blade Saws

Provides the added flexibility of one adjustable net rip in combination with fixed saw blades and the ability to get the maximum yield for applications able to utilize random width pieces such as edge glued panels. Requires a gap between each board to allow blade to shift. Perfect for kitchen cabinet manufacturers ripping a mix of fixed components for stile and rail and random components for edge gluing. Multiple Shifting Blades, Single Arbor

Provides the greatest production flexibility and yield recovery capability by generating a custom arbor for each board ripped, with the ability to position blades around board defects. Requires a gap between each board. Great for any short run application and maximizing yield recovery. Computer optimization control is recommended.

Multiple Shifting Blades, Dual Arbor

The ultimate in ripping technology. The addition of the second arbor provides two significant benefits; The ability to add edge hoggers on the first arbor greatly reduces the volume of edgings to handle at the outfeed of the saw, and, provides two infinitely variable net rips without the normal minimum constraints of face to face saws. Requires a gap between each board. Computer optimization control is normally required. More Information

Short Stock Saws
